  1. This is so true. They are like old friends. Just today our daughter looked out the front window and said, “Oh….the red winged blackbirds are here.” Thank you for your poem. Lots of wishes for health to you and yours. Peace.

    1. Thank you, Amy. I’m not sure they actually leave North Alabama where I live, but I know it’s the springtime when I hear them the most. I love their voices and am thrilled to hear them each year. I wish health and peace to you and your family as well.

  2. When I hear that call and see that flash, I know that spring really has arrived! In fact this week, I did see and hear them. They were too shy for a pic, but I also heard that low “chunk” meaning they were near. I love the way you presented the poem, too, Tim. It’s lovely! Best wishes to you & your family this tough time!
