November is Here
The rush of summer
is fading behind me now
and I find myself
feeling thankful for the dark
slow pace of the winter months
Memories
Pictures on the fridge
bring the past to life again
though I can’t forget
those for whom I’m most thankful
those whose love goes on and on
An Evening Walk
The sky above me
Holds the waxing quarter moon
With Saturn beside
And I walk in the pale light
On this still November eve
A Morning Walk
The conversation
we heard in the rustling leaves
high above our heads
brought us to a hushed silence
as we walked the mountain path
Love these tankas, Tim – full of emotion and the simple beauty imagery of nature.

Really lovely, Tim. I love sharing a bit of your life. My mail comes very late & now in the dark as I walk to get it, there lies that moon & Saturn, just as you wrote, “November eve”!

Linda, it really was a beautiful evening, wasn’t it? The end of DST always kind of bums me out with the early darkness, but it does have it’s bright spots (pun intended).

Very nice, Tim. I also give thanks for the slow dark pace to come. I like the mystery of the overhead conversation also. Thanks!

Mary Lee, normally I prefer a still, quiet walk, but the leaves that day were wonderful!

Tim, such beautiful images you’ve given us in these poems of gratitude. They are gentle and rich. I love that halfway around the world I’ve seen that same scene from your evening walk with the moon and Saturn.

These are really lovely moments captured, Tim. The sky holds the waxing moon is such a beautiful capture, and I too shared the hushed silence along the mountain path.

All gorgeous, Tim. I am most struck by “November is Here.” I rarely feel thankful for the dark
of the winter months, but you’ve reminded me not to overlook the joys of the slow pace of this period.

The dark months are hard, but they have their moments. Last night, though, was one of those, “It’s dark already!?” times. Ah, the winter.
