I watched a poem last night
Birds in silhouette
High in the evening sky, just before dusk
Black against an impossible blue
With economy of motion they flew southward
Leaving me breathless, far below

Tim, I first noticed your poem on Twitter and was instantly impressed. With an economy of scale you have managed to paint a vivid image of my mind’s eye. I am going to transcribe it into my notebook with due acknowledgment of course, as inspiration to me to keep striving. I shall put it under the heading- Words I Wish I Had Written.

This so beautifully captures one of my favorite recurring moments: standing still, watching geese fly south or back home overhead. I love that your poem is so spare and still itself.
