Renewed Life

During this National Poetry Month, Laura Purdie Salas has written and posted an equation poem for each day. I’ve really come to look forward to seeing them and wanted to try my hand at one before the month ended.

The north Alabama countryside is absolutely beautiful during the months of March and April, and in many ways that’s because of the rain we get. Mayapples are a favorite part of spring for me.

  1. Equation poems. Those are FUN! I am a not-so-shy-about-it self-declared math geek, so the crossover between math and poetry is a real sweet spot for me…

    1. The joys of asynchronous commenting (a fancy way of saying I’ve been slow to read and comment the past several days) has me reading your math geek arc poem before I can reply to this comment. I love being able to combine poetry with other “subjects” (I’m trying not to sound schoolish). As coincidence would have it, my poem today is a science poem. All that said, equation poems are a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to sharing them with my fourth graders next year!

      1. I’ll bet that they will have a GREAT time, most of them! And…I like the asynchronous commenting as well. Sometimes a post has to live in my head for a day or two before I can do a comment justice…
